1-24-10: It was a gorgeous day today as we met at the Old Spaghetti Factory, the newest one, in Redlands, for our Challenge 11 Return to the Moon challenge. Had over 50 people there, and they just fit in our reserved room! We were the OSF's first big group to reserve so this was a test for them--and they did very well! They even thanked me for such a nice group of people, so that was cool (never had the staff line up to thx me and shake my hand!)
Here are some pixs that we took from today...the only thing we forgot to take a pix of was all the prizes that we set out! :-(
All in all, a great day for our luncheon.

Get Quit Clinics a success!
1-13-10: Last week, we held 4 Get Quit Clinics, 1.5 hr seminars co-sponsored by Pfizer and BMG. This was a way for smokers to find out what quitting is all about, and to give them HOPE that they can become a non-smoker.
I didn't get the pixs of the first one in Banning, on Tues. at 2:30 PM, but there were 28 people there, which was a great start! Exceeded the RSVP of 18 or so.
Then on Wed. night up in Yucaipa, you can see in the pictures that there were 53 people jammed in the waiting room! Finally, you can see the pictures of the 2 Redlands sessions, which had more the normal amount of people.
This was a great opp for patients who normally can't make my Mon. night Quit Smoking class to get something out in their area (especially Banning) so I am working on getting some classes set up out that way. Pfizer is also looking at doing more Get Quit clinics in March again, since there is such a need.
In my Mon. night quit smoking class that just started this week, I had the highest number ever--about 30, and out of those, about half attended one of the Get Quit Clinics!

Health Ed Xmas Dinner/Party 2009!
12-11-09: Had another fun and yummy xmas dinner and party at Drew and Kevin's house! After the gift exchange with secret santa, we played Drew's game, L-R-C, but of course! Check out the pixs for the winner....
After a yummy dinner, we exchanged presents from our "secret santa". Kayla can't wait!

Our traditional group photo...;-)
Is Father Lou try to "feel" the dice or asking for divine intervention so he can roll dots??? Kayla was really wanting him to get a "L", though.
Gina is a RD intern with us, and a personal trainer in background, tended to throw the dice al little too vigorously, so much so that we had to pick up the dice off the floor now and then.
The Knights were on a big roll for most of the game, rolling to keep it in the family!
Our innaugeraul winner, Meg, was the final person with $, if you can believe that! She was hoping to get a circle or pass the turn over to whoever.
And she rolls a dot and gets all the pot!!! Again!!!
She can't believe that all that is hers.
Left-Right-Center works up a thirst, so hostess Drew served everyone with her special head server.
Meg counts her money...again!!!

1st Quarter b-days!
3-5-09: We finally celebrated the b-days of the first quarter. Check out the pictures and see if you can see who they were! Thanks to Christina, her step-daughter, and Linda for pumping balloons all day. (And thanks to Keri for letting us use her balloon pumps!)

Visit with Jan and George!
10-20-08: Some of us who were under former Health Ed Director Jan Hall's tenure had a chance to have lunch with her and George today, who are visiting from back East. Had a nice time catching up over lunch at Panera Bread. As you can see, they haven't changed one bit! It was good to catch up with them.
Lynda also told us of their trip to the East Coast and Canada, and how they are now getting ready for their next trip--this time to the Antartica! World travelers indeed!
Maria filled us in on her position, while I gave them an update on Health Ed.

Director Kayla's son on ice!
Check out Cam's first ice skating competition. Can you say, "Scott Hamilton" in the making?!?! Man, he can do things I wouldn't even dare try on ice. Wow! Congrats to Cam and the proud parents. ;-)
